First Floor Software is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the July 2015 Update of XAML Spy (version 2.8.0). This version adds full support for Windows 10 Universal apps (UWP) that are created with the RTM version of the Windows 10 SDK. Universal apps can run on any Windows device, including phone, tablet, laptop, Xbox, etc.
First Floor Software is working on XAML Spy 3, which will be a major update of XAML Spy that focuses on extended platform support and new features. The first public preview of XAML Spy 3 is not available yet, but we would like to take the opportunity to talk about some of the features we are working on.
Announcing the March 2015 Update of XAML Spy (version 2.7.0). This version adds full support for the Windows 10 Universal Application Platform (UAP). Apps targetting UAP can run on any Windows device, including phone, tablet, laptop, Xbox, etc. Today Windows 10 apps are developed using the Windows 10 Technical Preview tools, released by Microsoft earlier this week.
The open source XAML Conditional Compilation (XCC) project, previously hosted on CodePlex, has now moved to GitHub. The sole reason for this move? GitHub is where the community is. I've received numerous requests on moving to GitHub and finally got the time to make it happen.
Announcing the January 2015 Update of XAML Spy (version 2.6.0). This version adds full support for Visual Studio 2015, previously known as Visual Studio "14". Furthermore, this update addresses a number of bugs that occur when exploring XAML apps. For the full details see the release notes.
Announcing the October 2014 Update of XAML Spy (version 2.5.0). Among others, this update includes support for Visual Studio "14" CTPs and .NET 4.5.3. Visual Studio "14" Community Technology Previews (CTPs) are early, prerelease versions of the next major release of Visual Studio.
