So, what's all the fuzz about?
Almost a month ago I posted an article that exiting stuff was ahead. It's time to break the news; as of January 1st, 2009 I will be a full-time self-employed Silverlight consultant. I quit my job and founded my own company First Floor Software. I am going to help companies build their Silverlight applications and provide presentations and trainings. Next to the consultancy activities, First Floor Software develops various Silverlight related products, such as Silverlight Spy.
Up until today I have been doing a lot of Silverlight research & development in my spare time. I have come to realize that Silverlight opens a world of possibilities and that I should be able to earn a living with my knowledge and experience. These are exciting times, lots of administrative work, customer acquisition, company promotion, nothing is easy anymore. But I am confident First Floor Software will become a succes and it's great to be able to focus on a technology that has such huge potential.
Products
Silverlight Spy is now officially a product of First Floor Software. I will devote a considerable amount of time in maintaining Silverlight Spy. The last month I was very busy getting First Floor Software from the ground, but the dust will settle and I will be able to get a new release out the door very soon.
Regarding Silverlight Slideshow and specifically version 2; I have decided to abandon the project for I do not have the time to maintain both Silverlight Spy and Silverlight Slideshow. The good news; the sources of the preview version of Slideshow 2 will be made available on Codeplex soon. When requested I will try to provide the support needed to get you up-and-running with the sources.
My participation in the SilverlightContrib project will continue, my activity entirely depends on the available spare time.
Website
I have made various changes to the website. As you may have noticed I have introduced a Products and Services page containing some details on the activities of the First Floor Software company. Detailed contact information is now available in the contact page.
That's the fuzz folks.
