New version of Silverlight Spy
The first official company release of Silverlight Spy has made it to the web. This release includes a new feature which allows you to view the visual and the logical tree of the UI structure of your application. Previous versions of Silverlight Spy only provided a visual tree view of the UI. The logical tree view displays the elements that are contained in the same name scope. This comes in handy when you need to know for instance what elements the ImplicitStyleManager in the Silverlight Toolkit will style.
You can toggle the tree view mode by right mouse clicking a UI node and then select display logical or visual mode. The tree view mode can be switched per node. The XAML view and the Statistics View will be updated as well to reflect the selected view mode. An orange circle and the italic fontstyle of the UI node indicates the node is in the logical tree view mode.

Read the excellent blogposts 'Using ImplicitStyleManager and Theme Containers' and 'Silverlight and the Logical Tree' by Jafar Husain to get more information on the visual and logical tree in Silverlight.
The complete list of updates of this 2.0.0.34 release:
- Logical Tree View mode implemented for UI nodes.
- Cross-domain Policy File validator always used port number 80. Now the provided port number is used.
- Support for Silverlight 2 Beta 2 applications has been dropped

How can I get silverlight spy on a computer with no internet connection?
Hey,
Cool new version. Just keeps getting better.
But when are we going to see a version with a performance profiler? I think this is really the big black hole in Silverlight programming.
Jeremy: at this moment Silverlight Spy is only available using the provided ClickOnce installation, which requires an internet connection. A standalone setup is not available (yet).
I am investigating a stand-alone installer for Silverlight Spy.
Eylon: Silverlight Spy provides some basic performance monitors for CPU, FPS and memory usage, available in the Performance tab.
You probably want more? If so, please provide some more details on the features that you like to be included in the spy.
Jeremy,
If you have a computer with internet connection, you can install it there then go to c:\Documents and Settings\maderom\Local Settings\Apps\2.0\ and look for the app. Then you copy that folder to any location you need and run the exe.
