As of this beta release, Document Toolkit samples and extension projects are no longer part of Document Toolkit. The Document Toolkit Extensions open source project has been created on codeplex. The open source project allows for updates and fixes to the extension project outside the main release cycle of Document Toolkit.

Please note that this is a beta release, the API is incomplete and may change. Full text search is missing, it will be available in the upcoming Beta 2 release. Document Toolkit 2 is not backwards compatible with Document Toolkit 1.1

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the PDF support?

First Floor Software released a preview of a PDF viewer for Silverlight back in January 2010. PDF support is not yet available for Document Toolkit. It is expected that an experimental version of PDF support will be available in the next beta version of Document Toolkit.

When is the RTW release available?

Document Toolkit 2 RTW is scheduled for end June 2010. Please note that this information should not be interpreted as a commitment on the part of First Floor Software. First Floor Software makes no warranties, express or implied on its release schedule.

    Fantastic control. I can't wait for the PDF support! You're going to sell of ton licenses when that's implemented.

    I agree with Joe, this control is amazing.

    But we are really looking forward to PDF support, as the vast majority of our documents are PDF, and PDF to XPS conversion does not work reliably enough for a production environment.

    Please push hard to get PDF support going, you will corner the market that way :D

    The PDF support is the key to using this product. I've created a Proof of Concept and shown it to prospects with XPS and no one is willing to convert existing PDF to XPS. So, I hope the PDF support is part of the RTW.

    Could you please give us an update as to where you are with the PDF support and the release time frame?
